"Thank you, Owyn." Ari then addresses the freighter Captain again. "We're going to repair your ship, which is what we came to do. The Empire shouldn't know what my crew did on your ship. Not unless you or one of your crew report it. If you, or one of your crew, does inform the Empire, for some reward, things will probably not go well for you, personally, as the Empire has an annoying tendency to hold people responsible for things that they cannot control. But I can assure you that whomever does try to ingratiate themselves with the Empire will not live long enough to enjoy any reward they might get. I have friends, powerful ones, who would exact vengeance for me.
"After we complete the repairs to your ship, you're going to proceed as if nothing has happened. None of you will tell anyone anything. You had a mechanical problem, and your company sent a crew to fix the problem. That's all. I'll have our experts slice your computers so that your logs do not show that you were ever here. Your ship problem happened in another system. If anyone asks, that's where you were. Not in this system. Your logs will have a different description of us and our ship. If anyone asks, you will tell them what is in your logs. Nothing more, and nothing different. This should keep you, and us, safe."
