Usury's Reckoning is the flagship and principal actor of the wealthy Lunation Dynasty. Her keel was first laid above the Forge World of Voss in the mid-40th millennium by commission of the Imperial Navy. She was christened as the Guard's Reckoning and released to the reserve division of Battlefleet Armageddon. Reorganization saw her mothballed for three centuries until she was acquired by a Rogue Trader. Sometime in the early 41st Millennium, the powerful Glaive Dynasty, who performed a minor refit and rechristened her the Blade's Reckoning. The Glaive Dynasty borrowed heavily during the Amerat Union Crisis, and came out at a loss. A century of promises and minimum payments later, the Lunation Dynasty called in the debt, leaving the Glaive Dynasty with no choice but to turn over the vessel to the then young Primero Lunation. Now outfitted as a proper flagship, the vessel was rechristened the Usury's Reckoning and held in the Lunation Dynasty ever since.

Usury's Reckoning started her life as an Endeavour Light Cruiser and retains most of the form and characteristic of that class. Although light cruisers by tonnage, Endeavors sometimes go by the term "heavy escort" to better notate their role in the battlefleet, as their slow speed and dedicated weaponry make them generally unsuitable for the flanking and reconnaissance missions typically assigned to light cruisers, but have found favor as battleship escorts and as independent cruisers in light-combat areas where only frigates and corvettes are expected.

Although Usury's Reckoning is still a Navy ship at heart, she has undergone a few significant changes since her initial construction. Her torpedo tubes have been removed entirely, along with their munitions storage, and replaced by an auspex systems and a thicker armored prow. The number of guns along her broadsides has also been reduced, although care was taken to maintain her façade at full strength. A full sized barracks, vehicle bay and associated lighter bay were installed, along with an library and enhanced cognation unit. A few stowage vaults have been added to secure valuable equipment or items. Several of the upper decks have been refitted to both reduce void-fatigue and provide the level of luxury and image of prestige appropriate to a Rogue Trader.

During her last expedition, her disruption macrocannon primer was damaged along with the advanced cognation system. Many of her crew were lost, along with most of her infantry and all of the ground vehicles.
