V'Jax rolls his eyes at the situation, amazed that the Stormtrooper has held off a Commando Droid and Wookie for this long. He raises his pistol again, breathes slowly, and waits for a clear shot. Finally, seeing an opening, V'Jax fires and strikes the Stormtrooper cleanly in the chest.

Maneuver to Aim, Action to shoot light blaster pistol

The trooper stabs at the Wookiee, "Die, you damned walking rug!" But the tingling in his arm from the Rebel battle droid's stun baton throws off his aim and he misses the enraged Wookiee.

Telle broke north, towards the T-junction that (she hoped) led to the shuttle bay.

"Prax, I'm gonna try and cut off the escape route," she said as she began to take off. "These troopers should be out cold for a while."

OOC: Taking 2 maneuvers to move as far towards the bay as she can.

Orun watches in mild fascination as a single stormtrooper holds off a trio of his team. That must be one of the aging originals, he muses. We did grow an excellent product. Even so, he warily approaches, skirting along the edge of the corridor. Once he's past the melee he quickens his pace towards the shuttle bay, again stopping shy of the next intersection to let someone more heavily armored lead the way.

1 Maneuver to enter engaged range with the trooper, 1 maneuver to disengage moving past him.

"Right behind you!" Prax called back to Telle, keeping his pistol out and ready as he ran forward, scanning the hallways from side to side, even giving the occasional cautious glance back in the direction of the door they passed.

Gripping his ax tightly and mentally vowing to never be disarmed again Dewy raises it high above his head and heaves it down on top of the stubborn Stormtrooper with all his might yelling "For Kashyyyk!" and buries the blade in his helmet. The ax splits the Trooper's head and cuts through into his torso. It gets caught in the rib cage and Dewy has to use all his strength to rip it free. He says "To the Shuttle!" and heads that way.

Ax to Helmet: 2eP+2eA+2eD 3 successes, 1 threat

"Roger, Roger!" BX replied as he also took off down the hallway, quickly finding himself leading the way thanks to Dewey having to spend a moment release his axe from the fallen trooper's body. Still following the vague direction provided to him by his counterpart in the garage, he ran past the hallway to the generator, and keep on running right by the one labeled Mess Hall. It wasn't until he was about to strike the hard corner at the end of the hall that he began to slow. A half dozen steps later he found himself taking a sharp right at the communications room door, only to suddenly see…

As BX rounds the corner in front of the hatch, he spots a half-dozen guards in black Imperial uniforms standing in front of it, blaster carbines at the ready and pointed straight at him. You'll need to get past these guards to reach the launch pad where you can disable the shuttle to prevent Lieutenant Sarev's escape.

Prax continues running down the corridor towards the bay, passing the first T-Intersection and coming to a halt at the second. He pauses, coming face to face with half a dozen troopers bearing down on BX. That much sprinting is starting to take its straining toll, but he conjures up his reserves of energy and snaps into cover at the corner. Hoping to draw attention away from the commando droid, he pops around to fire off a few blaster bolts.
"Get some! Whooo!" Emboldened by his hasty shot finding its mark Prax ducks back into cover. With his wide brimmed hat casting shadows over the top half of his face, his ear to ear grin takes on a simultaneously creepy and menacing tint.

Shootin' grunts: 1eP+3eA+1eD 1 success, 2 advantage

Which is... 5 damage (I think) and a boost to the next player due to distraction, as well as 1 strain recovery.

One of the guards closest to Prax grunts in pain as the bolt hits him in the torso, the scorched hole not quite blending with the black material of the Imperial's uniform.

9+1-6=4 wounds (now at 8/13). In lieu of inflicting two criticals (say 'thank you'), I'm using the 3 ads to disarm BX and the Triumph to further destroy the weapon. Don't worry, the Imps are using (better) carbines themselves, so it can be replaced. Alas for any sentimental value BX may have had for the E-5.

Another of the guard trio also fires at BX, barely missing but exposing a weakness in the Rebel droid's posture.

The third member of that trio of guards is unable to take advantage of the weakness his companion revealed, also barely missing. But the guards' spirited defense of the path to the landing pad stiffens the spines of the other trio of guards.

V'Jax sprints away from the gory remains of the Stormtrooper towards the landing pad. He rounds a corner to find BX disarmed and another of his companions on the ground. Frowning, he pulls a stun grenade from a belt pouch and underhands it into the midst of the guards. 'Hopefully this evens the odds...' he thinks as it moves through the air.

Maneuver to move to short range, maneuver to pull out stun grenade (for 2 strain), action to throw grenade (spending 1 Destiny Point and getting the Boost from Prax's action).

The grenade lands spot on between the two guard trios, explodes in a bright blue bubble of energy, and all six guards collapse on the floor, ending the fight. The way to the landing pad is now clear.

BX was still processing the existence of the six base security personnel when the blaster bolts started flying his direction. He scrambled to come to a stop, unintentionally deflecting a couple of the incoming blaster bolts with his carbine as he did. The barrel quickly started glowing red as the charge pack started overloading the blast chamber.

"My Gun!" the droid exclaimed, throwing the gun forward and turning away, trying to cover himself with his arms and leg. A second later, the weapon exploded sending smoke and shrapnel into the air, and into BX himself. "My Gun." He repeated morosely, looking down at the carbon mark on the floor where the carbine had been a moment before. Another blaster bolt flying by brought his attention back to the battle, and he prepared himself to charge and make the troopers pay, only to find a stun grenade had done the job admirably already.

"Oh." He said to himself, relaxing from his combat stance and retracting the stun baton. He crept forward and glanced around the corner, giving the group a thumbs-up when he saw them. "Good throw, trooper!" Feeling like they'd found a quick break in the assault on the base, he took a moment to pull out his sealant bottle and spray down the areas that had been pockmarked by the exploding weapon.

Telle rounded the corner, ready to throw a stunner, but then she saw V'jax loose his. The guards hadn't even had time to focus any fire on her before they had all hit the duracrete.

Having also noticed the smoldering wreck that had been BeeEx's gun, she walked over to the unconscious guards, picked up one of their carbines, and handed it to the commando droid. "Need a new one?" she asked him with a wry smile. "Standard Imp issue. This will do the job until we can get some better kit."

She continued, "BeeEx, why don't you take Orun and V'jax into the hangar, see about disabling that shuttle. Dewey and I will stay back and make sure our stunned enemies are no longer a problem for us. And I'll see to our teammate there, too. A couple stims should do the trick, at least for now."

She started to turn away, then gave one last, purposeful look at the droid. "Comm us if you get into trouble!" She said firmly.

V'Jax nods to Telle, acknowledging her order. As he waits a moment for BX and Orun to collect themselves, he spits out a chewed up mass of thessel bark, takes a few deep breaths, and takes a quick mental inventory of his remaining explosives and kit.

Dewy comes charging around the corner preparing to hack some more Imperials into pieces. When he sees them all lying on the ground stunned he sighs and says "Thanks for leaving some for me!" He takes a few seconds to catch his breath which for some reason he just can't seem to do. "Let's get everyone together quickly and head for the shuttle."

Orun Kai catches up, finally, to the group outside of the hangar doors. Upon looking around, he's somewhat aghast to see one of their team lying there, unconscious, while everyone else plots. His medpac comes out, and the Kaminoan starts repairing the tissues damaged by blaster fire. When he's finished he heads back to the group, takes a second to catch his breath, and starts administering first aid, pain pills, placebos, and pats on the shoulder. As he works, he speaks.
"V'Jax, once we have neutralized the resistance, would you assist me in opening the shuttle's exterior door? Our pilot would likely appreciate the opportunity to recuperate behind flight controls."

"Roger, Roger, Trooper-Commander." BX said, confirming the order to take the shuttle pad with Orun and V'Jax and happily taking the new carbine from Telle's hands.  He did a quick check over the weapon to ensure its functionality and familiarize himself with the weapon's features - like the safety and the stun selector.

As he prepared to breach the door, he noticed Orun walk off, heading to take care of the fallen Prax.  For a moment the droid watched him like it wasn't quite computing.  Weren't they supposed to go into the landing pad? A few moments later, as Orun started to head back to the group, the matter seemed resolved and BX turned to face the door, leaving him unable to see what the rest of the team was doing.

"Troopers, We breach the door on the count of three." He said, holding the rifle in one hand and gesturing with sharp hand movements that could only be old CIS military signs. "I'll take point, we sweep right. Ready? One. Two. Uh..."

"What?" BX asked, his digital mind catching up with the interruption of his counting. "Oh, right, code cylinder."

Still holding the carbine in one hand, the battle droid checked the magnetic securement points on his thighs and back until he found the singular code cylinder the lead trooper had been carrying back at the garage. Carefully, as though he wasn't sure what to expect, He looked for somewhere to put it and, barring that, held it up to the control panel.

The ex-Seperatist battle droid inserts the cylinder into a receptacle next to the door, and not sure whether to be surprised or not, the door slides open open smoothly and silently, revealing the hangar on the other side. It is a large platform cut into the mountainside, inside of which sits a slightly battered Lambda-class shuttle, surrounded by heavy crates filled with spare parts and maintenance tools. The vessel appears to be offline, and there are no other guards on the launch pad.

To capture this base as a foothold for the Rebel Alliance, you must prevent its command staff from escaping — and this is the place they are most likely to run first. After all, the alternative is a long walk through a deadly jungle. How do you tackle this problem?

Taking the code cylinder with him, BX made a complex hand signal that was probably supposed to indicate they should move forward. Putting the hand back on the weapon's trigger he walked slowly into the underground hanger, sweeping the carbine from side to side as he searched the area for enemies. This was being back in his element.

Telle watched for a moment while Orun attached a bandage strip to her arm, then she stared as carried on with the first aid for the whole team as if he hadn't heard her.

"Fine—V'jax, come with BeeEx and me, let's see what we can do with this shuttle."
