Great!
I spent 15XP on Master Doctor. Banking 10XP. I marked down Joran's new Duty score.

'twould be nice if you'd posted that update in your online sheet's thread rather than tell me in the OOC. ;)

Was the scout group attacked far enough away from the base to warrant taking speeder bikes or is it close enough to go on foot?

If you trek the entire way on foot it'll take you days.

scrounge up some things...

Postby DeepSpacer » Fri Apr 21, 2017 6:15 pm

Per Kip's IC comment.... We might have some SEVERE Rarity Penalties to find some things, but I thinks it's reasonable to have some rolls. Because (I assume) it's in a rush, we'd likely have setback dice applied. And maybe couldn't look for EVERY item, given the time. Most should be reasonable to find among militants under normal conditions. I may have to *Charm* someone into "borrowing" a thing or two. :D

Kip will ask around for items in this priority:
> General Purpose Scanner (R 3) (Unless someone in the group already has one.)
> Scanner Goggles (R 3)
> Armor (R ) (**Any better than what he has.....HvyClothing or Environ Gear)
> Armored Clothing (R 6) or Padded Armor (R 1)
> Laser Sight (R 5)
> Night Vision Scope (R 3)
> Vibroknife (R 3)

All rarity checks are at +4 for being on an "uncivilized planet". On top of that, they have 1 setback for low supply, and 1 boost for command-level priority. Please make a Negotiation check for each item you wish to locate, as per RAW.

BTW, just for your edification and amusement, the module calls for a value limit of 250 credits per PC for getting supplies from Clik. I'm tossing that restriction. A value limit is stupid. It should be set solely by rarity checks. What's the point of having game mechanics and then some fool module author disregards them?

You obviously had no trouble getting padded armor, and a laser sight. They do have a vibroknife, if you can get one of the wounded scouts to part with it. There's at least one GP scanner out in the jungle, at the site of the attack, if you want to look for it.

I'm satisfied with the laser sight. Besides, these soldiers might need that knife if the base is attacked while we are away. I'll HOPE to retrieve the scanner if we make it that far.

I need you to update your online character sheet, please. For example, which weapon do you place the laser sight on, the rifle, the pistol, or on both? Do you carry your old set of heavy clothes with you, or leave them at Resolute Base? Don't forget to adjust soak and ENC.

Thanks. I like to keep my offline copies of all sheets up to date. Ever since I had a gaming board vanish out from under me several years ago (before FFG, when I was running Saga d20 games) I've been paranoid and **** about keeping backups.

I also keep offline copies in MS Word. I don't like navigating between tabs of web browsers. And, as you said, one day the site might go down or not be there.

Joran would like to get some Stim packs and anti-toxin doses.

How about trading in BX's blaster carbine for a blaster rifle?

12 stims are available plus 7 anti-toxin doses, and no problem with the carbine-for-rifle trade.

Great. What about Load-bear Gear/combat webbing for BX as well? 100 credits, Rarity 3, +3 Encumbrance Threshold

Updated Joran's character sheet. Swapped out 2 Frag Grenades for stims and anti-tox doses keeping his Encumbrance the same.

The drugs are zero ENC. Keep the frags. No problem with load-bearing gear for BX. Joran should take a set of that, too.
