I'll be back up on Monday unless I manage a part this weekend. Don't feel you need to wait on me.

Kinda have to wait. I've no idea whether anything that your characters may wish to do on Dac requires roleplay. If I advance the narrative then things can get ... messy. I've waited two weeks (or so); a few more days isn't going to kill me. And if Doc was bored he'd've said something.

Haven't been bored, been trying to rapidly finishing writing my undergrad thesis, trying to write down what all the data means. Curse procrastination.

I didn't realize you are waiting for that. The only things my characters are going to do planet side is purchase the new hyper-drive motivator. You already told me a price or at least what ratio of the book price to use, I just need to update my character sheet. I also need to add the extra money you recently awarded. I just haven't been able to.

Okay, then I'll advance the narrative tomorrow morning. Or later tonight if Mickey D's wifi is working. It was down last night and I'm at Wendy's now. They close lobby at 9pm, which is about ten minutes from now. :(

Killiri is on the bridge when you arrive at Roche.

Vedij was intending to send Dune off to meet with the LB. When Dune does this is up to Doc.

Where is our final destination after Roche?

'LB' is the initials of Brenko's Gozanti freighter. The FO's destination is Brentaal.

I'll get a response up tomorrow. I'm feeling pretty sick today, and don't want to have to edit a post 98 times because I can't put my thoughts into words.

My characters have been updated. I just need to look up the cost of the hyper drive motivator and subtract that from Brenko before i Add in any remaining credits... or subtract additional.

It's just half the cost of the attachment (6400/2=3200).

Can Dune get the LB offscreen or does that need to be roleplayed?

Shado, thank you for bumping us to a full crew. I know it was part of the game, but it was getting tedious.

You're welcome. Had you not gone to Dac it would have been months before you'd gotten fully staffed.

Yes you can; it doesn't need to be roleplayed.

Killiri glances out over the view of the Roche system. He'd never been here, that he could recall, but the asteroid belt was stunning he had heard.

You sure you want to bounce without sightseeing? Dune (and Vedij) might have something to say about that. See quoted text below...

What's the point of tossing roleplay (and contact-establishing) opportunities at players if they skip past them?

I said begin the calculations, I didn't order the jump to happen. ;)

I wanted to get it plotted, then we can sight see.

Plotting does no good if you jump ten minutes later or the ship moves too far. You'll have to recompute. But Irene was given an order and she'll quietly carry it out.

Oh, really? I thought that hyperspace lanes were stable enough that calculations could be held off a little while.

Alright, I'll add another post.

"The future, in motion, always is." The calcs are for here and now. The calcs change if here is no longer in the same place, which it won't be if you either move far enough or wait long enough (which is the same as moving, since nothing in the universe has zero absolute motion). In the movies and TV, a jump is always made moments after the calcs are done. Calcs for short jumps can be constantly updated (recomputed). But this next jump crosses 4 regions. It will take hours just to complete (unless you want an unsafe jump).

Ah, ok. Makes sense.

Well, she can start calculating, then if the Captain wants to not jump Killiri will have her stop.
