So OOC, I know we shouldn't send Dune's vessel, given that there's going to be a main hyperdrive failure on its first jump. That's going to cause a massive number of headaches. IC, though, Killiri has no reason to know that.

Gosh, this day just keeps getting better.

IT is a moot point all of our auxiliary ships together would be incapable of tending to our wounded. I'll edit the IC but we need to call in an alliance medical ship... now.

Doc, you can't launch Dune's ship. It's in Docking Bay 1. You know, that bay which is now being used to handle the overflow from sickbay?

And just think: all of this stems from one single Despair. And Rider thought he was being cute with 3PX. muahahahaha

Rider, I took the liberty of editing your post a bit when I did my usual tidying up. Specifically, the Alliance has no medical frigate at this time. The recently-seized-by-you-privateers New Star is destined to become the Redemption, their one and only Rebel medical frigate.

This is currently roughly 0.7 ABY.

The difference being that we kept rolling despairs and failing simple checks. You rolled really well when you dealt with 3PX.

'Tis true.

Rolling Despair on a jump is not a nice thing. Could have been worse. You could have been yanked out of hyper by an Imperial Interdictor doing the Star Wars version of speed trap. This was much more exciting. Hope you guys had fun. Had you two sweating and panicking even more than when the players in Isk kept rolling awful and were about a turn from a TPK. Come to think of it, the situations were very similar. Runs of terrible rolls on Orokos making the situation much more tense than even I had planned for.

Are we unable to bring the Captain through the mass of people or is it just difficult and how far away is he now? Brenko directed the security troopers to move to the entrance of medical can he see them making any progress?

It's just difficult and tedious, not impossible. You're at short range away from him, as he's still at the turbolifts, and you are at the entrance to medical. This is the designated triage station. Per protocol. Both troopers are still with the captain in the adjacent room (the turbolift foyer), along with another security trooper who was directing anyone trying to get off of the turbolift to head someplace else unless the patient is bleeding uncontrollably or not breathing. Seeing Brenko with the Captain, the trooper refrained from sending you away.

Once complete you may return to your duties here."

What is this Star Trek? I doubt the empire had any such protocols for a doctor outranking a captain XO or third in command. And if they did they would certainly have a protocol putting the captain as the highest priority for medical staff. His paper-cut outweighs major surgery for anyone else. At least that is how the empire reads to me.

Brenko isn't the ship's Captain, so it's not the Captain giving the droid orders, is it?

Would Killiri be able to override it, as acting captain?

I did say captain xo or third in command and have told the droid it is the captain that is injured which would trigger any such absurd Imperial protocol.

The droid doesn't know that Killiri is acting Captain. It only has Brenko's unsupported claim that the Captain is incapacitated. And Imperial protocols on the handling of medical emergencies is quite clear. It's following both its programming and the explicit orders of Surgeon Lieutenant Tannen. Prove to the droid that the Captain is incapacitated and it might obey Killiri. Or you can just do what it told you to do and bring the Captain to it. Which is quicker. But, hey, stand there and argue with a droid. It's pretty funny.

I have already ordered the security personnel to bring the Captain in. How would Brenko moving to help them speed up the process? They should be arriving by now anyways.

Dune isn't the ship's contact with the Alliance. Just in case you thought he was. That's Major Cet Willak, who's aboard the ship.

They do come in, about 10-15 seconds after your last IC post.

I know, I'm getting Dune to start looking into rumors and stuff from the sector. Killiri already said he would have Dune work on contacts, so he's starting that. There's an entire blockaded planet, and increased security. Looking into that now, before we go anywhere, is important, considering our current state.

Cet Willak was next on the list.
