The 7th mod would be a 9-purple check. Pretty darn hard indeed. I'd suggest you start with the decrease crit mod, BTW.

Yeah, I was thinking of doing decrease crit -1 then increase damage +1.

It should also be noted that there are two special rules when modding your own lightsaber:
1. It's difficulty is decreased by 2 (minimum simple)
2. If it's a crystal mod then you roll your Force Rating in Force Dice and can spend Force Points to add Success or Advantage.

Based on JR's info, I might be modding my lightsaber eventually, but never past the first mod on my own.Would I be allowed to borrow another PC's multitool if I ever decided to do any mods?

I don't see anything in the modification rules about mods having rarity. Attachments have a rarity but their mods do not, it looks like.

Depends on whether you're doing the work yourself, or having someone else do it. An NPC will have a YYGB dice pool, plus another boost if you assist them, versus 3+ purples. If you do it yourself it's a GGB pool unassisted, or either a YYB or GGGB pool with expert assistance, versus 1+ purples.

Just to make I understand what you're saying, if our PCs to the check themselves they can choose from (assuming Intellect 2, 0 Ranks in Mechanics) for their pool (plus 2 Force Dice):
1. GGB
2. YYB
3. GGGB

I'm confused because I'm not sure why anyone would pick #1.

#1 is unassisted. Perhaps you just want to do it yourself for the challenge. Or pride. Doesn't have to be logical. But it is an option. I wasn't asked to provide the best choice (mathematically), I was providing all of the choices.

I should add that #2 is ranks from the NPC + PC's ability, while #3 is using the NPC's ability score + PC's ranks.

Nice rolls!

I've got most of the mechanical decisions made (15 XP left to spend) and picked out Morality, Motivation, etc.
I still need to work on his personality and backstory. I hope to get something up this weekend.

When using Oggdude's app to create your Jedi, use the Basic Lightsaber Hilt and add an Ilum crystal as an attachment, rather than selecting the Basic Lightsaber. Why? If you add the crystal to an existing saber (so you can mod the crystal) it doubles up on the cost of the item, as the app isn't smart enough to know it's the same crystal. Cosmetic, but I'm OCD for having the details right.
